Opens 24 hours before departure at aa.com. Print your boarding pass or download it to your phone. Seat selection and upgrades can be made at this stage.

Self-service kiosks and staffed counters open at least 3 hours before departure. Domestic gate closes 15 minutes, international gate closes 30 minutes before departure.
All American Airlines tickets can be cancelled within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund, regardless of fare type — provided the flight departs at least 2 days away.
For tickets originating in the US, Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean, AA charges no fee to change your flight. You only pay the fare difference (if any) between the original and new ticket.
If you cancel a non-refundable ticket (after the 24-hour window), you receive a travel credit valid for 12 months from the original issue date — applicable to future AA bookings.
